Ashburton Mini Golf: Capturing Mid Canterbury in Every Putt

Themed around district icons—like the town clock, combine harvesters, braided rivers, and Mt Hutt—the course spans three terraced levels: holes 1-11 flat for pram and wheelchair access, and 12-18 climbing the slope.

Manufactured in our Oamaru facility using innovative tilt slabs, each ~16 m² hole is built tough with synthetic turf, recycled rubber, and weatherproof finishes for 24/7 public use. It’s low-maintenance, family-oriented, and part of the centre’s 30-year masterplan.

As of early October, we’re on track, with earthworks complete and installation advancing weekly—proving Creo crafts versatile play spaces, from grand playgrounds to themed courses that last.

Custom Rakaia Salmon Statue by Local Artist Wicksey

Hole 12, inspired by the Rakaia Bridge, features a standout element: a custom salmon statue nodding to the district’s famous roadside sculpture. Crafted via 3D printing and currently being hand-painted by Oamaru-based mixed media artist Wicksey, it adds authentic flair without exact replication.

This collaboration highlights Creo’s creative process—prototyping quirky details with local talent for durable, thematic impact that ties the course to Mid Canterbury’s story.
