5 Creo Playgrounds You Should Visit This Summer!

The summer holidays are upon us, meaning it’s time to get outside and enjoy some fun in the sun with family and friends.  If you’re hitting the road, or just staying local and looking for some exciting new places to take the kids for a run-around, here are 5 awesome playgrounds to check out.

1. Wanaka Rotary Park, Wanaka

Located on the stunning lakefront of Lake Wanaka, this children’s playground is fully equipped with play elements and surroundings to keep the whole family entertained this summer. There is a great junior play structure for the young ones, balance balls, and a surrounding picnic area.  Dogs are also welcome around the area but should be kept on leads. Wanaka Rotary Park is close to shops and cafés, has easy access to the lake if you can brave the chilly water, and is surrounded by plenty of shaded areas so you’re safe from the harsh rays of the summer sun. If you are heading down this way this summer, make sure Wanaka Rotary Park is on your list.

2. Karori Park Playground, Wellington

With a big focus on accessibility and fun for all, Karori Park is the perfect community, neighbourhood playground to visit! Designed to have accessible entryways, and rubber surfacing that leads between the play areas it’s a simple space to navigate. The playground has a large flying fox, a great claw swing, a junior play structure as well as a larger one, picnic tables, and a trampoline. It is a great space to bring the family and have a little picnic.

3. Cornwall Park Playground, Hastings

Cornwall Park is the perfect place to spend your day in the sun! It is designed to reflect its surrounding park environment with an oak leaf and acorn theme that plays into the playground. Featuring a great 10-meter-tall Acorn Village climbing structure, a water play area, flying fox, trampolines, memory games, and plenty of shaded areas to keep out of the sun, it really has everything you need to pack your day full of fun! 4. Greater Green Island Playground, Dunedin

Located in the suburb of Green Island, Dunedin, the Greater Green Island Playground is an awesome neighbourhood spot to bring the kids and relax in the sun. The playground has a fresh and open feeling with plenty of space to run around and have a kick about. The playground features a number of junior play structures, perfect for the little ones and all designed for easy accessibility to the play features. Close to a few cafes and shops, this makes for the perfect spot to enjoy this summer.

5. Cummings Park, Wellington

Fresh and newly opened for the public, this new play space in Cummings Park is the perfect little spot to bring the family. With open space for backyard cricket or a kick about, along with the brand-new playground area, there’s something for the whole family here. Featuring a great swing structure, balance pay elements, climbing nets, a junior play structure, and many seating areas, you can easily spend the afternoon here. The Cummings Park playground is also close to the community library, and various cafés. If you’re around the area, make sure you check this spot out!
